What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non invasive exfoliation procedure that removes impurities, improves skin tone and reduces signs of aging.
How does microdermabrasion work?
A diamond tipped wand exfoliates the top layer of skin on the face and neck, scraping off dead skin and promoting the growth of new skin cells.
How do I prepare for my microdermabrasion procedure?
Avoid tanning, waxing or excessive sun exposure for 1 week prior to treatment. In addition, discontinue the use of exfoliating creams and masks at least 3 days before your appointment. On the day of your procedure, be sure to wipe off all makeup and thoroughly wash your face to remove excess impurities prior to treatment.
What precautions should I take following treatment?
It’s common to experience increased skin sensitivity following a microdermabrasion procedure. With this in mind, it’s important to be gentle during your skin care routine. Steer clear of abrasive products. Avoid using topical acne medication for at least 1 day after your procedure. In addition, consider applying sunscreen daily, as your face will be more prone to burn in the coming weeks.

What does a microdermabrasion procedure involve?
To begin, your skin care specialist will cleanse your skin to remove excess dirt and oil. Next, the diamond tipped device will be activated and placed against your face. Note that you may feel a mild scratching sensation as the wand scrapes across your face. You may also experience a massage like feeling throughout your treatment. This is the vacuum feature at work collecting dead skin cells after they’ve been exfoliated by the wand tip. Following the exfoliation stage, you’ll be given a toner to rebalance the Ph of your skin. Toners offer numerous benefits, including anti aging effects and acne reduction and will be selected based on your specific skin care needs. Finally, You’ll be given sunscreen to help prevent sensitive skin from burns following treatment. The entire process lasts approximately 1 hour and should not produce any pain.
When can I expect to see results?
You should notice a difference in the clarity of your skin immediately following treatment. You may require 5-16 additional microdermabrasion procedures before experiencing reduced signs of aging.
How often should I come in for treatment?
