What’s better than hanging out with friends and family at the beach during the sunny summer months…nothing! But, while we have fun outside it is very important to remember than the sun’s UV rays can be very damaging to our skin. Don’t fret, we would never tell you to stay indoors, we will help you protect yourself so you stay as vibrant and beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.
With just a few precautions and a bit of pre-planning you can make your next outdoor adventure day fun and safe! Here is what you should have in your beach bag to be prepared for any summer situation…
*Water* Hydration is incredibly important for maintaining healthy skin. The skin is the largest organ on your body, and being that humans are made up largely of water it makes sense that we need it to survive, and beyond that – thrive. Keeping yourself and your skin hydrated will make you feel and look better. Make sure you have a bottle of water with you whenever you head out the door.
*Sunglasses* Your eyes can be damaged just as much as your skin can by the sun! Not only are the UV rays harmful, but constant squinting can cause headaches and wrinkles. We recommend investing in a pair of sunglasses that has ample UVA/UVB protection in the lenses.
*Moisturizer with SPF* As we discussed earlier, the sun’s rays can be very damaging to the skin, and it can also be very drying. The best remedy for both is to use a moisturizer that already has spf in it. That way you can save time when applying it, as well as having less to carry in that beach bag of yours! At La Perla our doctors use christina cosmeceuticals. They find that these products use the best ingredients for your skin while providing maximum safety. You can purchase an array of Christina cosmeceuticals in our spa.
*A big hat!* No matter how much SPF you are using, it is still very difficult to achieve the level of sun safety we need. Beyond that, who wants to put sunscreen in their hair? We need a hat to protect our scalp, neck, and as a backup for our face…we only get one complexion after all!
No matter how you decide to spend your time in the sun, remember to be responsible and take care of your skin!
